Mark – Thanks! Just discovered the forum. I appreciate the kind words. The story was fun to write. I started with the title from a friend’s message, combined several of my favorite SF ideas, and ran with it. And I learned a lot from editing it. Thanks for reading it here! I have a fantasy story that is about as far from this as possible in setting but very similar in themes in the fall Cirsova magazine. Thanks again to you and the editors of Cosmic Roots and Eldritch Shores.
